Surveyor General's Office, Hong Kong, 19th September, 1890 I have the honour to enclose copy of a letter dated 29th April last respecting the circumstances under which Mr Sidney Fitzhardinge Berkeley, who was employed for about three months as Assistant Engineer in this Department, left the Colony. Mr Mudie, Executive Engineer under whom Mr Berkeley was working, advanced him the sum of $113 to liquidate debts and release him from imprisonment.
